Atlach-Nacha was created by Clark Ashton Smith. It takes the form of an enormous spider and labors without cease to spin a web that will bridge the abyss between the waking world and the realm of dream.
Legend holds that when the web is finally complete, the end of the world will follow. The entity is wholly absorbed in this task and reacts with lethal ferocity toward any who interrupt its weaving.
