Tsathoggua is shaped like a furred, bat-like toad, a Great Old One that lingers sluggishly in dark underground caverns. Lazy and indifferent, it nonetheless never refuses the offerings made to it.
Clark Ashton Smith created it for his Hyperborea cycle, and Lovecraft borrowed it into the Mythos — a product of the friendship through which the writers traded their creations.
