Eastern Folklore

Eop

The Eop is a household guardian governing a family’s fortune, often imagined as a large serpent nesting in the storehouse or under the roof. A house the Eop inhabits prospers; when it leaves, the family is said to begin its decline.

More than horror, it carries a mood of wariness and dependence. As an unseen housemate that holds the home’s fate, it reads as an invisible hand dwelling within the safest of spaces.
