The Dvorovoi is a Slavic (chiefly Russian) spirit of the courtyard, associated with a farmstead's grounds, its cattle shed, and its stable. Its name derives from dvor, meaning "yard."
It is similar to the house spirit Domovoi, though it is held to be less benevolent, and is considered particularly dangerous to livestock — especially white-furred animals.
