The Same Eight

August 14. The four and the set have become one row.

At ten past nine I opened the four entries I saved yesterday.

There are eight letters in the compiler field.

At twenty past nine I went into the detail screen.

My name is in the entered content. Just as I put it in yesterday.

On the list screen there are eight letters.

It is the same field.

I printed both screens. Two sheets of paper.

On the detail sheet there are the three characters of my name. On the list sheet there are eight letters.

I drew the content of one field from two places and the two sheets differ.

There is no field asking which of them is that field.

At half past nine I wrote my account notation on paper.

I wrote the list's eight letters beneath it.

The first four agree.

The last four differ.

The eight letters displayed are not my personal notation.

At ten to ten I brought up the set's entry alongside.

I wrote down the displayed value of the set's compiler field.

I wrote down the displayed value of the set's imprint field.

I wrote down the displayed value of the four volumes' compiler field.

The three are the same. Of the eight letters not one differs.

At twenty past ten I looked up the entry of the twelfth month last year.

The one before me had entered that three of them had become one row.

The three then were the compiler, the imprint and the one receiving.

Today's three are the four volumes' compiler, the set's compiler and the set's imprint.

The one receiving I did not count today.

At eleven I sorted the list by compiler.

The eight letters came up as one row.

Beneath it five entries come out together.

The four volumes and the set.

It is the first time five have come out together in one place.

At ten past eleven I looked at the displayed compiler values of the remaining twenty-seven entries.

Twenty-six are not eight letters.

The lengths differ and the first four all differ. A different notation for each holding library.

One is eight letters. The set.

From today, five.

At twenty past eleven I looked for the rule of display.

I looked for a line saying that the displayed value of a supplementary entry is the institutional notation.

There is none.

Nor is there a line saying it is the personal notation.

There is no line at all saying what the displayed value is to be.

At one I looked at the first four of the eight letters again.

They are this room's.

Nowhere is it entered what the last four are.

If it is a person, there should be a field asking who. That field is not there.

If it is an institution, there should be a field asking whether it is this room. That field is not there either.

At twenty past one I took out the notation that opened the set's row this morning.

It is the same.

At twenty-five to two I looked at the recovering-party field of the four entries.

It is blank in all four.

The right of supplement attaches to every blank. The recovering-party field can be filled too.

That none of the four forewords has a field for the recovering party I entered in April.

There is nothing to copy across from a side that has no such field.

I did not fill it.

At ten to two I wrote the reply to the holding library.

There are three items it asks after.

For whether it is published I entered that application is in progress.

For the year of publication I entered two thousand and one.

For the compiler I entered the list's displayed value.

Eight letters.

I did not enter my name.

At five past two I looked at why I entered it so.

If I enter my name, the list and the reply differ.

The procedure in the third field is that the diverging side is entered as the copy.

The reply becomes the copy.

If I enter the list's displayed value, the two are the same.

At half past two I opened the box.

Seven articles. Seven marks. Day five hundred and thirty-seven.

The sixth field is eleven thousand seven hundred and fifty-three. The set's row was opened a hundred and sixty times yesterday and the imprint route a hundred and eleven.

The right-hand material is eight hundred and nine pages. The date of the added page is the twelfth of the ninth month of ninety-nine. The third line of page five hundred and thirty-nine has been blank two hundred and twenty-nine days. The original of the fifth bundle is a hundred and seventy-seven pages and has not grown for six hundred and seven days.

At ten to three I opened the query records of the four entries.

Since they were made in March of seventy-eight there have been no queries.

For twenty-three years, nought.

At three I looked at yesterday.

There are queries yesterday.

On all four.

At twenty past three I wrote down the times.

All four are twenty to five.

Pressing save was at half past four.

At twenty to four I sorted the arrivals by route.

All four are the compiler route.

The compiler route is a route that did not exist until yesterday. With the compiler field blank, nothing can come in by it.

At four I looked for when the compiler route came into being.

There is no record of a route coming into being.

It says the route opens when the field is filled.

Filling the field was at half past four yesterday. Coming in by the route was at twenty to five yesterday.

There is no field entering that a route came into being in those ten minutes.

At twenty past four I brought the five entries up again.

The compiler field is filled in all five.

The sides that filled them are two. August last year and yesterday.

The hands that filled them are two and the displayed value is one.

There is no field for entering that two filled one.
