The Shadow over Innsmouth

인스머스의 그림자

The Shadow over Innsmouth follows a traveler who, stopping by chance in a port town, learns the secret of its people and the Deep Ones and barely escapes. But the real horror comes after the escape, slowly, from within his own blood.

Its ending — an otherness already inside the self surfacing, rather than a monster from outside — shows the deepest form of a horror one cannot flee.

H. P. Lovecraft · 1936
