Vaesen is a Nordic horror TTRPG published by Free League Publishing, depicting a Gothic setting based on the work of Swedish illustrator and author Johan Egerkrans. It uses an adapted version of the award-winning Year Zero Engine.
Set in nineteenth-century northern Europe, player characters possess the ability to perceive the vaesen — supernatural beings unseen by most ("the Sight"). It is a game where investigation and folklore knowledge, finding a creature’s nature and weakness, matter as much as combat.
