The Call of Cthulhu

크툴루의 부름

The Call of Cthulhu is built as a narrator pieces together scattered records — a statuette, a sailor’s log, newspaper clippings — until he reaches a terrible whole. The more fragmentary evidence he gathers, the nearer the truth, and the further the safety.

Its opening — that the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents is the greatest mercy — became a manifesto for cosmic horror itself.

H. P. Lovecraft · 1928
