Pocong is a revenant originating in central and eastern Java, Indonesia. In Islamic funeral practice the dead are wrapped in a white shroud (kain kafan), and if the binding knots are not undone before burial the corpse is said to rise as a Pocong.
Because its feet are bound it cannot walk, instead hopping like a rabbit or floating. In Malaysia it is also called Hantu Bungkus, the "wrapped-up ghost."
