The Mothman is a creature reported by numerous witnesses around Point Pleasant, West Virginia, in 1966–67, described as a winged humanoid with glowing red eyes. The sightings became bound to the Silver Bridge collapse the following year, giving the figure its identity as a harbinger of catastrophe.
