The Mi-go are an alien race resembling a mix of crustacean and fungus, come from Yuggoth at the solar system’s edge to mine remote mountains of Earth. They can carry a human brain across space sealed in a metal cylinder.
They appear in "The Whisperer in Darkness" and barely register even on photographs to human perception. To these travelers between the stars, a human is only a specimen and a cargo.
