La Lechuza

라 레추사

La Lechuza is a being of Mexican and South Texas Tejano folklore, described as a giant owl with the face of an old woman. By night she is said to lure people out of their homes with the false cry of an infant, then strike.

As both a death-omen bird crossing the night sky and a hunter who lures with a counterfeit sound, she is a form of auditory horror that baits with trust.
