The Hopkinsville Goblins refer to a 1955 encounter at a farmhouse near Kelly, Kentucky, in which small silvery beings with glowing eyes are said to have besieged the house through the night. The occupants fired on them, but the creatures only retreated briefly and returned again and again.
As persistent besiegers whom every attempt to repel fails to stop, they form an archetype of a threat that cannot be kept from returning.
