Tiyanak

티야낙

Tiyanak is a creature of Philippine folklore that takes the form of a baby and mimics an infant’s cries to draw in travelers. When someone picks it up, it reverts to its true form and attacks.

It is variously told as the spirit of a child whose mother died before its birth, the souls of unbaptized infants, or a vengeful aborted fetus. Wards against it include wearing clothes inside-out, carrying garlic or a rosary, and naming it aloud.
