Jersey Devil

저지 데블

Also: Leeds Devil

The Jersey Devil is a legend rooted in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, depicted with the face of a horse and the wings of a bat. At its core is an origin tale: the cursed thirteenth child of a family, born or transformed into a monster. A wave of sightings in 1909 spread the legend widely.

As a devil bound forever to one place, it exemplifies the kind of horror that is inscribed into a single land and never lifts.
